Gallery Publishing

Art loves paper

GMB publishing, together with exhibition and acquisition activities, constitute the gallery's core activities. Exhibition catalogues, artist monographs, artist books, popularisation material, educational guides, and many other such examples form an inherent part of the gallery’s processes and public communications. Through its publishing activities, GMB aims to reach the widest possible audience across a diverse range of expectations, to facilitate access to its rich collections, and to support and complement its permanent and temporary exhibitions.
The publishing team, in close cooperation with internal and external experts, administers the entire process of creating publications and other printed materials. The team carries out editorial preparation and post-production of texts, and, in coordination with the Communication Department, contributes to the implementation of promotional campaigns. In addition to collaboration with the Department of Professional Activities, the team works closely with the Education and Events Departments on targeted engagement of visitors from different age groups, professional backgrounds, and local communities.
The publishing programme is conducted responsibly, in keeping with the environmental requirements of printing processes. The gallery cooperates with local printers and adjusts the volume of its printed materials according to the needs of a particular exhibition project.
GMB’s publishing house is continuously seeking ways to distribute its currently selling titles more efficiently, and to make meaningful use of older publications. In addition to an annually organised book fair, GMB offers its titles to general education and art-focused schools, children’s homes, homes for the elderly, and libraries.

Marketing materials

Marketing materials are printed on Impact Natural recycled paper. The number of copies is checked during the exhibitions, and thanks to digital offset printing, materials are replenished as needed.
