Pricing structure

Tickets, programs for schools, events, photography, reproductions, research and rentals.

Tickets can be purchased via the event details section of our website and at the ticket desks of both palaces. A ticket, whether for a programme or an exhibition, entitles the visitor to a single visit to all exhibitions in the specific palace. Purchases from ticket desks may be made by cash or card. Ticket prices vary according to the activity.

Free entry

  • Under 18 years
  • AICA, IAA, ICOM, RGS, Union of Museums in Slovakia, Disability, and Bratislava card holders
  • Students of fine art, art history, architecture, aesthetics, or cultural studies (upon presentation of an ISIC card or an Academic Transcript)
  • Tour guides, if accompanying a group
  • Educators, if accompanying a group
  • Exhibition opening events and closing events
  • Employees of Bratislava City Hall, Bratislava City Museum, Bratislava Cultural and Information Centre, or Ministry of Culture (upon presentation of employee card)
  • Family members of GMB employees when accompanied by the employee
  • GMB collaborators and partners, and guests of the exhibition curator
  • First Wednesday of every month

School visits that will not participate in the learning programme

  • €0 – Educators supervising a group
  • €0 – Pupils and students under 18 years of age
  • €2 – University students not majoring in art
Booking is not required for schools not participating in the learning programme, but you are kindly requested to inform us via email at [email protected] if you are visiting with a group of more than 30 people. Owing to capacity constraints, we cannot always guarantee entry to exhibition spaces for unannounced arrivals.

  • €0 – programme for primary, secondary, and tertiary schools (90 mins)

Programmes and events (Exhibition entry is included in the price)

  • €8 – curatorial, lecturing, and authorial tours, discussions, and talks*

  • €18 – workshop in Studio (age 15+)
  • €100 – lecturer's interpretation in Slovak or English for a pre-arranged group
* 50 % discount for children aged 6–18, discount for the following card holders: ISIC, ITIC, 60+, Disability Card, Carers Card

Photography and filming (price per hour)

  • €0 – private and media use
  • €10 – academic and research use
  • €50 – wedding photography and commercial use
Photography and video recording are permitted in all visitor areas of the Mirbach and Pálffy Palaces. The GMB reserves the right to prohibit photography within specific exhibitions or displays; in such cases visitors will be notified by means of a pictogram at the entrance to the relevant exhibition space.

Provision of reproduction for single use (scan, photograph)

Prices for the provision of digital reproductions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific work and the purpose of use.

Research services and provision of data on collection objects (price per hour)

Commercial use
  • €5 – simple research (fewer than 5 subjects or authors)
  • €20 – complex research
Academic and research use
  • €0 – simple research (fewer than 5 subjects or authors)
  • €10 – complex research

Venue hire – Non-commercial events

Conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops, concert hall rental for elementary art schools, etc. (hire period up to 3 hours, €30 per additional hour).

  • €240 – Mirbach or Pálffy Palace courtyard
  • €180 – Mirbach Palace (ground floor; 1st floor; 3rd floor)
  • €120 – Pálffy Palace (basement; 1st floor)

Venue hire – Commercial events

Receptions, presentations, filming, photography, weddings, etc. (hire period up to 3 hours, €60 per additional hour).

Technical equipment

  • €100 per item – projector, PC, cabling, stand, mixing desk, microphone, speakers

Staffing

Prices for staffing are based on the number of staff and number of hours required. At least one internal GMB staff member must be on site throughout the event.
