As part of the exhibition opening, there will be author's performances by two of the exhibiting artists.
József Rokko Juhász, in his processual performance Balance (2024), will explore the aspects of the laborious, not self-evident, downright privileged, state of balance. A state that many human beings instinctively strive to achieve, but others find irritating.
Vlado Martek, in the reenactment of his action Preparation for Poetry (1980/2024) intended as an author's manifesto, will emphasize the symbolic presence of material aspects in the creative process of writing poetry, the awareness of automatism, as well as the influence of all material elements in the elementary stages of this creative process.
The exhibition represents a unique assembly of well-known and lesser-known works of conceptual and performance art. Thematically concentrated, while also including art works in considerable numbers, the curator’s selection stresses environmental motifs in art from the 1960s to the 1980s.
